True, certain conditions allow life to form, however, the VAST majority of the universe cannot sustain life, and the only place we know intelligent life to exist, earth, can only support life on some of its surface, some of the time. Keep in mind, 99% of all species that has ever existed are now extinct. It is a wonder life is still around to be honest.. My first point against Dr. Craig concerns the imporbability of the so called "fine tuning" of our universe to be chance. He states that the probability of such conditions occuring by chance is so low, that it cannot be "reasonably faced." However, look at the arrangment of atoms in any given organism. The chances of such an exact arrangment are monumentally low . However, such arrangments do occur. Let me give you an exampe. Say you and three friends are playing a game of poker. All are dealt cards and they write down and record the hands each of them are given. The chances of all players receiving the exact same hand again at the same time is so low it borders on impossible. You could literally continue playing cards for the rest of your life and still not come across the same combination! The point being that such improbable conditions CAN occur through chance. Furthermore, yes, we could criticize the multiverse theory for its lack of empirical testability, or using occam's razor. Let's ignore that for the moment ... | ||||
