RGIII indicated that he's already met with the Philadelphia Eagles, which came as a surprise to some, and that he has meetings scheduled with the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns on Friday. During his weigh-in and measurement earlier in the day, Griffin III came in over 6'2" -- his height and size were a bit of a concern in terms of durability heading into the draft season. . At this point, GMs and quarterbacks league-wide are convinced that Griffin III can serve as a true franchise player. NFL Scouting Combine 2012: Miami Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland & Head Coach Joe Philbin on Future Down in South Beach, the biggest offseason talk is focused on the Miami Dolphins acquiring a true franchise quarterback during the offseason. Several names have been bandied about - Peyton Manning, Matt Flynn and Heisman Trophy Winner, Robert Griffin III (RG3). Newly hired head coach Joe Philbin and General Manager Jeff Ireland addressed the media at the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine regarding the issue. Ireland was clear, saying the team is looking for leadership from the quarterback position. . Since Dan Marino retired after the 1999 season, the Dolphins have fielded 16 quarterbacks, yielding very little success in the process. Suffice it to say, now is the time for the Dolphins to create a new trajectory at the position, whether it be through the draft or a free agent acquisition. The Dolphins showed in the last half of the 2011 season that there is enough talent to win and a bona fide quarterback could make all the difference in 2012.
