james younger.isoa few years ago i did a public program on Jessee James at our local library and finished my presentation off with this photographic slide show..The video has several photos of all 3 younger brothers and frank and jessee james including death photos...Many people don't know that the gang was really known as the james-younger gang and they were 2 sets of brothers who had fought together in the Civil War as confederate bushwackers. The song that the program is done to is "Bad Company" by the band Bad Company and fits jessee james so well it makes you wonder if he wasn't the inspiration for the song..Lyrics such as "its a rebel thing" and" rebel pride" all reinforce the idea that the James gang was simply still fighting against the yankee banks and railroads..Lyrics like "some kind of double cross" seem almost to make reference to Robert Ford who would eventually betray his friend and shoot jessee in the back one day.. Also, if you look closely you will see 3 photos of another outlaw whom some of you may know..LOL... [ .me].. Threw these photos of my reenatment group in for my audiance...hope you enjoy.. .ps- a great way to learn about the james gang is to watch the movies "the long riders" followed by "the assassination of jessee james by the coward robert ford"..The 2 movies together cover their outlaw lives pretty well..The movie "Ride with the Devil" is a great way to see the way the james' lived before the war and the type of war they had to fight in wild missouri.. | ||||
