Mardi Pardi Eco Adventure Race 2011With an eye toward promoting eco-tourism along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the First Annual Mardi Pardi Eco Adventure kicked off on Saturday, March 5, 2011. Decked out in Mardi Gras attire to fit the season of our area, Mardi Pardiers showed their vibrant colors as fun-loving athletes! For both racers and non-racers alike, the Mardi Pardi Eco Adventure purposefully hosted this annual event the weekend before the Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans to highlight the beauty of the area's coastal environment and unique blend of the region's famous cuisine, music, and fun-loving culture. Mardi Pardi was a good way to spend a beautiful day at the beach and still have time to get to a favorite Mardi Gras event later! Following the 5k race held along the beautiful beach in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Mardi Pardiers took their celebratory good natures to the Mockingbird Cafe where a huge party complete with New Orleans music, Gulf Coast cuisine, and, of course, local beer were provided compliments of our many generous sponsors.. This video provides a brief peek into the natural beauty of the area and the incredibly fun time for which our area is world renown.
